Frequently asked questions
What we are asked most often
The answers cover what MAP can document. Where a capability is not confirmed, the answer says so rather than asserting availability.
How it works
What does MAP do, in one sentence?
MAP issues traceable, earmarkable electronic money to organise dedicated funding: define how funds may be used, circulate the operations and report them to the roles concerned.
Is this the digital euro?
No. MAP’s offer is a private offer, distinct from the Eurosystem’s digital euro project. It is neither issued, nor guaranteed, nor approved by a central bank. The detailed comparison is set out in the dedicated article.
Is electronic money a deposit?
No. It bears no interest and is not covered by a deposit guarantee scheme. The funds received in exchange for issuance are subject to a separate safeguarding mechanism.
What is the blockchain for in the scheme?
It keeps the ledger of entries and makes any retroactive change to the history detectable. It establishes neither the truthfulness of data entered, nor the absence of fraud, nor the compliance of an expense.
Funders
Which rules can we define?
Authorised holder, recipient category, named recipient, period, ceiling. What each rule controls and what it does not prove is set out in the rules matrix. Their availability for your programme is settled at scoping.
Can we control what is purchased, item by item?
Filtering by recipient category does not establish the contents of the basket. Finer control requires a specific integration and suitable data; it cannot be promised from the outset.
How do we track consumption of the envelope?
Tracking distinguishes the authorised amount, the recorded amount and the available balance. Reporting is defined at scoping: format, frequency, recipients.
Is there a public price list?
No. Pricing terms depend on the scope of the programme and are communicated after scoping.
Beneficiaries
How can I find out why an operation was refused?
A refusal is explained by the rule concerned. The reason is reported to the holder according to the programme’s arrangements. In the event of persistent difficulty, support or a complaint are the appropriate channels.
Can my balance disappear at the end of the programme?
The end of a period of use and the right to redemption of electronic money are two distinct questions. Balances are handled as provided for in the programme contract; no automatic forfeiture is presumed.
Is my data visible to the funder?
Each role has defined access rights. Reporting is designed to account for use without unnecessarily exposing the identity of individuals.
Who do I contact if there is a problem?
Support directs you according to the nature of the question: programme, access, operation or incident. A complaint follows a path distinct from commercial support.
Integration
Is there a public API?
No. Technical documentation is provided during scoping, for the scope adopted. This site publishes no sample request, key or service address.
How long does an integration take?
It depends on the scope, the systems concerned and your organisation’s internal approvals. No standard lead time is announced before the scoping stage.
Can we test before committing?
A test environment on fictitious data is part of the preparation stage. Its arrangements are defined with your technical teams.
Do you offer a card, an IBAN, European coverage?
These elements are not presented as available. The channels and media adopted for a programme, as well as its territory, are those confirmed at scoping.
Trust
Which entity do we contract with?
MAP is the institutional brand of the project carried by Mon Ami Poto SAS. The exact legal identity of the contracting party is published on the Regulatory framework page once verified in the entity’s documents.
Where can we verify the institution’s status?
The public registers of the supervisory authority allow this verification. The link to the entity’s record will be published with the exact reference of its authorisation.
Do you hold security certifications?
No certification is claimed in the absence of a verifiable attestation. Any attestation obtained will be published with its scope, its issuer and its validity date.
How do we obtain your supplier-assessment file?
The catalogue of documents indicates the access mode of each one: public, on request or restricted. A request is made through the institutional contact channel.
